So I love shapes, and all my InDesign designs tend to be really geometric. Thus, all the rectangle-y lines, etc. I could justify it by explaining that the white spaces guides the reader's eye between Hunter, Holmes, and the people who would expel them, a metaphor for their own alienation, but that'd be far too deep for my process.Mostly I just liked the shapes.
I love the way you did the top two photos! Plus, you just like shapes which is also cool.
